What we specialise in

We specialise in working with small businesses from sole traders to unincorporated partnerships and from limited companies to freelancers and contractors.

As a small business ourselves, we know the challenge that launching, establishing, and growing a business is. It’s difficult to leave the world of steady employment with guaranteed wages to pursue a self employed career without a safety net because you want to do it and you believe you can offer something different and better.

Just doing what you do well isn’t enough to be successful in business though. You need people to help you understand and overcome the obstacles put in your way, a major one of which is financial recordkeeping. Small business owners spend many hours each month keeping their books up to date if they try to do it themselves.

The Business Bookkeeper is a small, determined, professional, and engaged team and we want our clients to have the best chance possible of building a sustainable and stable business which provides them and their families with a certainty of income over the long term.

Customisable services

In addition to offering bespoke tariffs for clients based on their exact needs, we have three standard tariffs each for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

You’ll also benefit from bank and credit card reconciliations, completed payroll journals, accruals and prepayments, basic management reporting, completion of your sales and purchase ledger reconciliations, tax liability reduction maximisation, email and telephone support, and more.

Comprehensive Package

Our Comprehensive Package includes every benefit you receive in the Essential Tariff plus debtor monitoring (debtor day monitoring), monitoring of your three most important business expenses, full management reporting, and completion of your annual accounts.

Premium Service

Our Premium Service includes all of the feature of the Comprehensive Service plus completion of VAT reconciliation, completion of your VAT returns, monitoring of your five most important business expenses, maintenance of your fixed asset register, a quarterly business review, enhanced credit control, and monitoring of the three key performance indicators within your business which you tell us are most important to you.

Our focus on clients

The focus of the Business Bookkeeper is on providing the services of greatest value to our clients at a fixed-fee, monthly charge.

When you get in touch with us, please let us know about your company, the products and services you sell, the markets you operate in, and what you want from the service provided by the Business Bookkeeper.

If you require something different from our standard three packages, we’ll create a bespoke monthly fixed-fee service for your business so that you pay for and benefit from only the services you need and want.
